Naturo-What?
Naturopathic
Medicine is holistic: it focuses on health and education, combining
safe and effective traditional therapies with the most current advances
in modern medicine. Naturopathy is appropriate for the management of a
broad range of health conditions affecting people of all ages. So just
what does a naturopath do? A Doctor of Naturopathy (ND) is highly
trained in naturopathic modalities. In addition to basic medical
sciences, naturopathic education includes homeopathy, manual therapy,
auriculotherapy, acupuncture, massage, therapeutic nutrition and
botanical medicine. Some naturopaths have recently added the skills of
Prolotherapy (aka Reconstructive Therapy) to help combat ligament
injuries. A naturopathic doctor (ND) does not prescribe pharmaceutical
medicines or drugs. Naturopathic Physicians, also called "Naturopaths",
are esteemed in many countries of the world: e.g., they are called
"HeilPraktor" in Germany (meaning "Healing Doctor").
